Feng Zhu is a talented concept artist. His drawings help to create movies and video games. He has enjoyed drawing pictures since childhood.

Movies, video games, and books started turning the wheels of his young imagination.

"As a kid, I always had a strong interest in films and video games. My parents were pretty supportive of me. So as long as I kept my grades up, I could play games and watch movies whenever," says Feng.

"The only way for me to 're-live' the movies I loved was to sketch them. I did this all through junior high and high school and eventually took it more seriously. In 1995, I decided to enroll full-time at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California."

Feng began his career eight years ago, making concept drawings for futuristic Hollywood movie sets. Concept drawings are made for movie directors, long before filming begins, to show how characters and scenes will look.

Then Feng moved to Austin, Texas to draw concepts for video games. His artwork was used to create the game series Wing Commander.

In 1999 Feng left Texas to work for Blur Studios in Los Angeles, California. He created visual concepts for the video game Battle Realms. His amazing drawings and ideas were shown in many books and magazines.

While at Blur Studios Feng was able to expand his drawing skills. "Since Blur worked on all sorts of projects ranging from game cinematics to TV commercials, I had a lot of fun designing from one project to another."

Feng's drawing ability and hard work brought him a big opportunity.
